Winter Conditions are Here

The end of November has brought the Florida Keys its first few cold fronts. In between fronts the fishing has been excellent. With clear skies and light wind, the water temperature has been hovering in the mid seventies. There are still groups of adult tarpon laid up in the backcountry basins, as well as schools of juvenile tarpon eager to eat a fly. It seems as if the permit have been enjoying the cooler water temperatures, and the bonefish fishing west of Key West has been excellent. There’s been a few barracuda around, and we can look forward to more on the flats with cooler temps on the horizon.
