Welcome Back!

I just finished a fantastic summer guiding trout fishing in West Yellowstone, Montana with Big Sky Anglers. The snow there is falling, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in Key West! Since I’ve been back I have had some great flats fishing to report. The weather has been absolutely wonderful this winter, and the fishing has been spectacular for this time of year. I have some limited dates available December through March before things get crazy for tarpon season, so please reach out and let’s go fishing!

I started off November fishing my good friend Chris Daniel. He’s a great angler and a pleasure to have on the bow. We had our sights set on permit, and had some incredible shots! Without a bite in two full days of permit fishing, we switched our attention to bonefishing west of Key West and Chris landed his personal best bone, 7 lbs!

Rob and I fished the Sugarloaf Showdown tournament, and had a great time! We didn’t perform up to our standards, but landed some nice bonefish and barracuda! We went for it all on day two to try and land a permit for the win, but came up short. As always, it was a fantastic event put on by the LKGA, and we raised a ton of money for the organization as well as for the Guide’s Trust Foundation.

Lately, i’ve been running bonefish and tarpon charters. The bonefishing west of Key West has been wonderful, and theres been great juvenile tarpon fishing in the backcountry. On the warm, sunny days big tarpon have been shifting around and laying up in the backcountry which has been a pleasant surprise! I’ve been having some decent permit fishing as well!
